A Seattle transplant and graduate of Laguna College of Art & Design, Stephanie Snee draws and paints, teaches art, frosts cakes, and climbs walls. Sensations and revisited memories in dreams or in past adventures inspires the content of her work, as well as an interest in biology and psychology. Her studio work operates on a language of natural symbols and subtle surrealism. Snee's practices include representational studies that fuel fictional illustrations, with appreciation for detail, a love of rocks, trinkets, ornamentation, and textures. Her art, like her life, is dominated by mantras of variety and balance with a concern for animal welfare and the preservation of the environment.
